The challenge

Our collaboration with the Moodtalk team has evolved over the years, closely following the product’s own growth. In the early days, the primary challenge was designing an intuitive and engaging user experience. As the platform matured, our focus shifted toward anticipating and meeting changing customer needs. Today, our key challenge lies in enhancing Moodtalk’s UI in meaningful ways—without disrupting the user experience with overly frequent or drastic changes.

Discovery

To kick off the project, we conducted in-depth user research and client interviews to build a holistic understanding of the users’ goals, expectations, and frustrations. Moodtalk’s early investment in collecting customer feedback—from the brand’s inception—played a crucial role in streamlining this phase. Their proactive approach gave us a solid foundation to work from, speeding up alignment and decision-making.

 Design

The design phase was twofold: crafting a distinctive brand identity and reimagining the existing dashboard. Our goal was to create a cohesive visual language that captured Moodtalk’s mission and resonated deeply with users. Through multiple design iterations and direct customer feedback, we achieved a look and feel that is both authentic, memorable, and emotionally engaging.

The Logo

The logo captures the duality of communication—positive and negative. Two abstract forms come together to represent how both types of feedback are essential in building strong, productive relationships. It embodies the idea that constructive criticism and praise are equally important for growth, echoing Moodtalk’s mission to foster effective team communication.

The UI

Clear communication demands a clear interface. With that principle in mind, we crafted a UI that prioritises simplicity, clarity, and ease of use. A calming yet vibrant colour palette, clean typography, and logical structure work together to enhance the experience. Given the platform’s information-rich nature, we introduced card-based layouts to break content into manageable chunks, helping users focus and interact with ease and reduce cognitive load.

Continuous Learning

Over the past four years, our close partnership with Moodtalk has allowed us to iterate and evolve the platform in tune with user needs. The result is a thoughtfully designed, user-centric product that fosters collaboration and delivers real impact. Our work with Moodtalk reflects our ongoing commitment to building meaningful, effective design solutions through deep collaboration.
